About Us
ABC Dog Training was established in Melbourne, Australia in 2004. Founder, Rebecca Travica has had a passion for animals - especially dogs - from a very young age and always aspired to work with animals.
Whilst at school, Rebecca did volunteer work in veterinary clinics during school holidays, which then turned into a part time role at a clinic on the weekends.
After completing VCE in 1997, Rebecca secured a job as a veterinary nurse and began her studies in veterinary science.
Eight years as a veterinary nurse led to Rebecca developing a passion for learning more about animal behaviour.
This interest was further prompted by both the training needs of her own dog Cassie and the fact that she continually encountered other owners who were finding common training techniques to be unsuccessful.
From developing her own training techniques for Cassie, Rebecca then went on to start her own private puppy training classes in the veterinary clinic….and ABC Dog Training was born.
Rebecca is a Certified Advanced Veterinary Nurse and a member of the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia and the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, APDT.
